Max Lumi: Updated from factory (2.X.X) to 3.5 and now touch doesn't work
Hey, I updated a Max Lumi from ebay (preowned) that looks to have never been used.
Everything worked fine when I booted and went through setup, but after updating to 3.5 (latest) the screen displays, but now doesn't register touch. Apparently this is an issue when the boot.img and update don't match, so I thought there might've been a problem there. I tried fastboot boot the stock boot.img for 3.5 from https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=336523 but that left me with the same issue. I also tried factory resetting the device using recovery, to no avail. Does anyone have any ideas? |

It might be worth a try to reflash the update if you think that there is a mismatch between partitions. A full update file should include the boot partition.
Unless I miss my guess, you should be able to get the update UPX from here: Code:
http://data.onyx-international.cn/api/firmware/update?where=%7B%22buildNumber%22:0,%22buildType%22:%22user%22,%22deviceMAC%22:%22%22,%22lang%22:%22en_US%22,%22model%22:%22MaxLumi%22,%22submodel%22:%22%22,%22fingerprint%22:%22%22%7D http://firmware-us-volc.boox.com/382647ca3866d28d1c3a519c8f1d62e6/update.upx https://github.com/Hagb/decryptBooxUpdateUpx With the update.zip, you can adb sideload update.zip... assuming your device can enter recovery and you can navigate the menu. Use the sideload command when the recovery prompts you for it. If you haven't set up ADB authorization yet for your device, you might have to plug a mouse into your device to navigate without touch. Other navigation methods like scrcpy probably won't work without ADB authorization unless you can figure out OTG mode. |

You can also download (on desktop or device) the update.upx and still encrypted park it on /sdcard
Then: Code:
C:\>adb shell $ am start -a onyx.settings.action.firmware |

Would you happen to have any idea how to get the original OS version back on the device using the API download page? |

It's not simple to downgrade OS versions. Renate might be able to help with that, but I've only read that you have to mess with the update scripts to bypass the version checks that normally block it.
As for getting the download, you might be able to find someone mentioning the download link in a post around here similar to what I posted. Onyx doesn't usually make it easy to get old versions. PS... have you considered that perhaps your device was from a different region and that's why things don't match up correctly? Although, it sounded like you updated the normal way, which should have pulled the correct region... |

Downloads in a quick search, for example: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...1&postcount=69
Apparently Onyx hosts some older firmwares(maybe): https://downloads.boox.com/download/max |
