Plugin to download metadata and covers from www.skoob.com.br. Skoob is a brazilian website similar to Goodreads, so almost all of its contents is in pt_BR. For that reason this plugin will be of most use for books in Portuguese.

This plugin was heavily based on B&N plugin.

Main Features of v1.0.4

• Can retrieve title, author, comments, rating and cover. Skoob unique id also retrieved as identifier.
• Uses a simple simlarity algorithm to sort the result for best matches first
• Option to retrieve isbn, publisher and publication date by looking into additional info page (extra page download needed). Default is "off", "on" means slower.
• Option to customise the number of search result pages to analyse. If the search is too broad the best match may not be in the first page. Default is 1, more means slower.
• Option to customise the number of matches to download/evaluate. Since the results are sorted by similarity, more downloads means less quality but higher chance of hit (also slower). Default is 1, more means slower.
• Experimental option to define a threshold on similarity for discarding results. Not quite precise, 20-30 seems to be a good value. Default is 0, which means no discarding. (Doesn't mean much if number of matches to download is 1)

Special Notes:

• Not tested on Calibre earlier than 0.8.

Installation Notes:

• Download the attached zip file and install the plugin as described in the Introduction to plugins thread.
• Note that this is not a GUI plugin so it is not intended/cannot be added to context menus/toolbars etc.

What i would ask is not quite the suggestion of a new plugin, but the upgrading off a old one that stopped working. I'm referring to metadata plugin of the brazilian site skoob.com.br.
Did any of the developers from here would be interested in do it?

Could you explain the problems you're having in a bit more detail.

Wow, this hasn't even been updated to Qt5. That part is easy. The attached version will work with he current version of calibre. But, it didn't find any books. That might be a language thing, but it is probably changes to the site in the two years since this plugin was updated.

Can you do some testing? Firstly, make sure it does load, that you can change the configuration and it tries to do the search. Then, I need some information to try and update the plugin. Usually these sites are reasonably obvious, but as I don't speak Portuguese, some clues can help.

I'd like some books on the site to search for. They are in different categories to get all the metadata needed. These are:

- Book with a single author not in a series
- Book with a two or more authors
- Book in a series with a series index
- Book in a series without a series index

As well as the books, the URL for the search page. Or what to click on to get there.

Once I have that, I'll see what I can do. But, it will probably be a few days before I have a chance.
