Moving from Proper Installation to Portable Installation
Hi,
In a similar mood as this post, I'd really like to know how I could make the opposite, ie. I'd like to switch from a proper installation to a portable one, also keeping my metadata, library, and plugins intact. If I could successfully make a backup of the regular installation's data, I wasn't able to restore them onto a portable environment. Any hints on how to do this? Thanks! |

There are 2 USER parts to a Calibre installation
1) Libraries ( a single one standard) 2) Preferences (AKA Configuration) Calibre Portable is similar with the exception the structure is a Tree with ALL the programs, settings and Libraries inside the Tree Simply replace the ENTIRE Settings folder with your old ENTIRE settings folder If you used the default Library name, substitute (replace) that branch If you have more than 1 or just a different name. Place those ALONGSIDE the default folder When you start, Portable, you may need to select a Library. That is pretty much it |
