Calibre wont recognize my kindle
Running Window 10 and Calibre 6.29. Have a Kindle fire 8. Not in the listing of ignored devices.
Debug record shows: Spoiler:
Appreciate any help. This is a new kindle. Thought I would try one since they were on sale. So far not too good..... Last edited by theducks; 11-03-2023 at 11:55 AM. Reason: SPOILER LOG files |

That device is reporting it has no storage devices available, which is why calibre refuses to connect to it.
This can usually be fixed by rebooting both the device and the computer. Also sometimes faulty/failing SD cards cause it. If you have an SD card in the device, try removing it. If your device is not in File transfer mode, you should swipe down from the TOP after plugging it in, tap on the USB notification and change the USB mode to file transfer. |

Had tried all the mentioned fixes without luck so I changed the SD card to a new smaller size and it worked fine. Now when I plug my Samsung tablet into the computer to load a couple books from Calibre the program locks up and will reboot itself several times in succession (during my Kindle quest I upgraded Calibre to 6.29). I am also getting the following Error: Unhandled Exception message

What does reboot itself mean? That error means the device is most likely having issues with the SD card, remove the SD card.

I have 2 readers, a samsung Ive been using for a while and the kindle which is new and when all the trouble started. After I tried all the fixes you mentioned previously, I inserted a new smaller SD card in the kindle and Calibre recognized it. Got it to move my books without problem. When I attached my Samsung using the USB cable, calibre recognized it but thats when I started getting all the exception error messages, program locks up or it just shuts itself down. Nothing has changed with the Samsung regarding programs, SD card, etc. Only change is that I upgraded Calibre to 6.29 |

Whichever device you are getting the errors for, trying removing the sd card and/or resetting the device.
