Mobileread site via iSilo??
Any tips on how to best get parts of the Mobileread site into iSilo?
I tried https://www.mobileread.com/feeds/23_rss20.xml and https://www.mobileread.com/feeds/34_rss20.xml and while I can get the pages several odd things happen: 1) Instead of the main page showing up with headlines and stories (as it does in a browser), the first page is a bunch of one line links. 2) Click on any link and one goes to a page that has the text but it's way down on the page, 7, 9, 11 taps down. 3) Even though I've tried setting Rigid (don't allow paging) or Hard (no scrolling across boundaries), scrolling goes right through a page onto the next one. Ironically, mobileread is now just about the only site I can't get working mobilely with a Palm! Is there some PDA friendly version of the site? Some link or address? Appreciate any help. |

Have you tried this one... https://www.mobileread.com/mobile/index.php?
But yes, you've got a point there, unfortunately, for the time being. Alex has mentioned in the past that this is something he has plans to improve. But I'll leave it to him to decide what hints to give of what is to come. BTW, you may also get some success with the "mobilizing" sites like Skweezer and https://www.mobileread.com/forums/search.php?do=getdaily |

Thanks for the response! Actually, I had looked at that, but it only gives the forums filled with lots of threads and discussion but not the news, main page.
Any other notions? It's so strange that iSilo doesn't simply capture the main page of the RSS feed directly rather than list a set of links. |

This may be sort of what you're looking for. It's a listing of every new thread (hence catching every front-page post), formatted for iSilo/Plucker/etc. Not exactly what you seem to be looking for, but pretty close. |

That's interesting... but it, too, seems to point to threads whereas if you go to this:
https://www.mobileread.com/feeds/23_rss20.xml You'll see what I'm trying have iSilo fetch! |

BUMP!
Any ideas on how to have mobileread.com NEWS/front page display well in iSilo? On how to make it be mobile-friendly? (See earlier posts in thread for more info!)
It continues to be the laggard among the many mobile sites I read on the Palm! Looking forward to hearing from others! |
