If your AZW4 is a wrapper around a PDF file, I would suggest using KindleUnpack to extract the embedded PDF. The other issue in your log file is that DRM is not being removed from the AZW4. You might want to try installing an updated DeDRM version. See Automatic alpha release with latest changes. You will also want to check whatever keys you are using to decrypt the file. To get more help, go to the Discussions segment on NoDRM's Github site.

And please wrap SPOILER tags around long log file entries in the future! (Go Advanced, select the text you want to hide and click on the eyeball with the X across it.

The book I'm trying to convert to Epub is not a PDF file. It only lists it as AWZ4. I just installed the latest Calibre and DeDRM last week. I'll take a look.

Take a look at the Amazon page for that file. It is a Print Replica which is a PDF file with an Amazon wrapper. KindleUnpack will extract the PDF from that wrapper making it easier to deal with though any conversion from PDF is already off to a bad start. IMNSHO, PDF is about the worst format to convert from.

You missed the word Wrapper. Think Amazon putting it in an envelope.
AZW3 is a similar package. Inside is just EPUB (with Amazon rules)

The issue I see in your log file is that you have not updated your version of DeDRM and you are not able to decrypt the file ( Ultimately failed to decrypt after 1.3 seconds ). See the link in my first message in this thread.

Since you appear to be using a version of Kindle for Mac to download the file, that may also be part of your issue. You may want to take a look at the Dealing with Kindle ebooks in calibre thread if the update to DeDRM does not help.

AZW4 is only available for download from Content page if you have an Amazon Fire tablet, and you cannot remove DRM from that. (is this what you are trying to do?) There might still be a way using some old version of Kindle for Android, but I don't know anything about that.

Exceptions are the few Print Replica titles which are made available for Kindle Scribe. That should be removable via serial number, after which you can convert to PDF (calibre is able to do it; I just checked this). But I assume that is not the case here.

Apart from that you need Kindle Classic for macOS, or Kindle for Windows (no later than version 2.4.0) to get a download that the Tools can decrypt. You need KFX input plugin too, and then you get KFX print replica format. The plugin will convert that to PDF, fixed-layout ePub, or CBZ (if it is print replica format).
