iRiver Story Font Size!

I'm slightly confused about the iRiver Story

. All over the internet i've been looking around but I can't find any website which has any information about the size of the text... My eye sights pretty crap so I really need it to be large enough to read! Please can someone give me any information about the size!!

So, I had to register so that I could tell you the size of the font =)
As i see, it depends if it´s a pfd or an epub. You can zoom in quite nicely acctually. But i dont know the size of the font. But I will take a picture and post it later if it will help?
I had my Story for a couple of weeks and I'm happy with it.

A photo will work. Another way is to compare the font sizes to those from Sony eBook Library on a Windows PC or a Mac. It always uses a 600x800 pixel window for the text, just like on the Story. So the number of words per line from the same ebook on the Story and in eBL can tell you what sizes are available. The font will look bigger on most PC screens, but the important thing is which font size gives similar words per line on the same ebook.

The E-book Reader Matrix currently indicates the Story only has 3 font sizes. This is fewer than most readers (if accurate), and a device with 3 font sizes usually does not have a huge maximum font.

I took some pictures of the three different font sizes that is available in iriver Story. The book I used was a EPUB book. I put the reader on a paper that have inches and centimeter ruler so you can get a reference size.

Default size (smallest):

In the new firmware that was released 2 days ago (v1.50) I also think that there is a function to add new .ttf fonts. But I haven't played with new fonts yet so I can not comment on it.

Just copy the .ttf file to the font directory of iriver story.
You can change the default font in "menu → settings → font".
The user fonts do not apply to .pdf / .epub file.

I didn't realize the text was as big as it is. Also im pretty impressed about the chaning of the font. Thank you all once again! I'm damn sure i'll be back on after xmas with a load more questions :P Haha

If you look at one of the pictures I linked to in my reply above you should see a small button with a magnifying glass with a + sign inside it. It is next to the Search button. When you press that magnifying button you get to select one of the three different sizes.

And I noticed that with several pdf´s there is a diffrent font size fromt he beginning and then it will be samller or bigger when I zoom. Oh, that sounded stupid... I meant... two books have diffrent size hen I open them for instant one have a fontsize 8 ! ande the other 4. and when I zoom I only need to zoom once with the first an three times with the second.
So if you need it big, convert them them, change the font and then put them back into the story =)

hi everyone,
Just got my iriver story. I can zoom onto the txt files but not on the pdf files.

When I click the zoom button on the pdf files it goes from very small print to even smaller print - the zoom function with the 3 magnifying glasses only appears on the txt files.
How to make the font bigger as in the options there is just "default"?
