Power brick makes high pitch noise.

Does anyone else have a power brick for the EE that makes a really high pitch noise (albiet very soft)?

No, might be a defect. I'd suggest opening up a support ticket and see if they'd let you exchange it for a replacement.

@ Unraisedarc

This is abnormal behaviour for the power brick. If you have not done so already, please contact our support team at your earliest convenience so that they can arrange to have it replaced.

My power brick become even more noisly than before
Is it possible to find something which will work good with eDGe?

p.s. I'll send it to EE for replacement, but don't want to wait whole month for new one (russian postal service is very slow).

My power brick emits a similar noise to the one you described. :/

It depends on battery. I have iRobot which can ONLY be used with original adapters (non original will shorten battery life up to 5 times). So I'd like to hear confirmation that any adapter will work fine, and there's will be no disadvantage for battery.

Boris, I read the thread before I posted, but thanks.

I simply made my post to notify whoever it mattered to that was reading the thread that this problem has occurred with more than one consumer.

I am using several ac adapters, which I modified for use with the eDGe. They are all just 12V adapters, all very small about the same size as the iPhone AC adapter, but have different current ratings (1A) than the one supplied with the eDGe (2.5A). I have absolutely no problems with them at all. No adverse effects at all. I have never noticed any differences with the battery life in any way. The problem is the tip that the eDGe uses. Thats why I modified it myself. Now I have multiple adapters, all nice and small, that I can easily carry around with my eDGe.

Interesting. What about battery recharge time? Does it take longer with the 1A vs 2.5A?

to be honest, I never timed it. My intuition is that it is similar....certainly not significantly longer.... but as I said, never really timed it.
