Fictionwise Price Increases?
Has anyone else noticed books on fictionwise getting price increases. Looking though my wishlist I'm seeing a large number of books there were being sold for $9 or under at the time I added them are now a whopping $12 to $20 making them now typically more expensive than their p-book counterparts.
The kindle and it's $9.99 price plan is looking very tempting right now, if only it was sold this side of the pond. |

Interesting. I haven't yet noticed it, but perhaps you're right?
Have you done a one-to-one comparison? I'm curious about some of the titles where you've encountered this. Don |

Are these titles all from one publisher? A few publishers have been messing around with pricing lately.

And Simon and Shuster have upped their prices on Star Trek eBooks. I do not know if others of theirs have gone up as well. Some Star Trek eBooks can be had for $9.99 while the paperback lists for $7.99.

I've noticed that too. And to add to that their most recent releases -since November- (not just Trek) are not available in MS LIT format (I know I've mentioned that before!).

This is not a promising trend.

Star Trek: Titan - Over a Torrent Sea Kindle version 7.99 Fictionwise: 8.49 - 20% = 6.79 BUT, FW only has it in ereader format right now - no LIT, no Mobi Which would you go for? I normally don't buy ereader format, just because, but I might have to this week. |

Also it's not good for Fictionwise to only have it in eReader format. |

That might be due to Overdrive's discontinuing their contract with Fictionwise, if it's a MobiPocket (OD) book at BoB.

I've noticed a lot of the fictionwise 'new releases' aren't only available in lit or ereader - not, fortunately, anything I was interested in - but I hope it's just a temporary thing.

FWIW, I probably am just going to get it in ereader from FW. I have a 25% coupon I need to use in the next few days plus I have $100 in micropay...so I'll suck it up and buy it in ereader.

Think the Star Trek book increases have anything to do with the impending film release? Like how companies rerelease pbooks during similar events? Often new editions, the same text but with new covers, intros and a new price tag.
