This is what people are looking for!
I started messing with Writer2ePub a few days ago. Very nice
Once you’ve got a few issues worked out it will be really great. Luke I see you are working on embedding fonts. I can copy a unicode text from a website and it is displayed correctly in OOo, would it be much work to be to convert basic Unicode to applicable font so it displays in epub? |

the problem about visualization of unicode character in ePub is related to ADE reading software. The only way to display correctly the full charachter set is to add inside the ePub a font containing the required charachters. I plan to embed one font using W2E, but I still thinking about the right way to do this. Luke |

Obviously by @font-face of CSS. Since the embedding of font files equivalent of distributing the font files themselves directly, there's a risk of copyright infringement associated with it - so just let the user specify manually the path to the font files which should be embedded, with the result of a conscious decision on the users side if a font should be embedded or not.

About the characters visualization in ADE:
I wrote another extension called Unicodex, freely downloadable from here: http://lukesblog.it/ebooks/ebook-tools/unicodex/ This extension shows the unicode code for a selected character. Moreover, it shows also the compatibility with that character with ADE. Is not a whole check for a document, but it helps to verify a single character compatibility. Luke |
