The Bone Season (Samantha Shannon) question

Just purchased 'The Bone Season Box Set: Author's Preferred Text.' These are the first four volumes.

Does anyone (who is familiar with both sets) know if the differences between the original and this set are major? Or just 'clean-up' business between a young 21 year-old writer and the now more mature writer?

I'm not familiar, but my niece is, and she said there are enough changes that you probably don't want to mix and match new with old, choose one and go with that. (It so happens I have the first book of the earlier edition sitting on my reader, I picked it up on special a long while ago. I'd been thinking about reading it soon but now feel ambivalent ... maybe I'll wait for the new versions to come on special.)

ABC News in Australia published this article recently that may or may not be of interest to you.
