In Chapter 1, the author gives his/her definition of harrassment:
"Harassment is any deplorable words, actions, or behaviors, where the solitary goal is to demoralize, intimidate, or ruin an individuals self esteem and self identity. Harassment is an internalised event, caused by external factors, which wounds the identity and pride of an individual. Where rape is primarily understood to be a physical assault, harassment is often an emotional, and psychological assault on ones being. Harassment is used to subjugate, and destroy an individuals self esteem and self worth." Ignoring the grammatical constructs for a moment, can the OP tell us if this definition has been used in a court of law, or is it just the interpretation of a lay person? Harassment lawsuits are very hard to win. The victims are usually too distracted or demoralized to collect the necessary evidence that will allow them to win in court. Thus, I would suggest potential victims find additional sources of information (published on the internet or in book form) to establish the basis for such suits. Forewarned is forearmed. Good luck to anyone involved in such a dispute. It is an ugly experience, one which I hope most people never encounter first hand. |
