Free (nook/Kobo/iTunes) Broken Wings [1940s/1990s Aviation Time Travel Romance]

Broken Wings by Sylvie Kurtz is her standalone-looking f/m time travel aviation romance, starring a 1990s pilot who timeslips back to the 1940s to help an airport-inheriting widow in need of aid, free courtesy of publisher ePublishing Works! (exclamation mark theirs), who are e-printing it from its original 1996 Leisure Books paperback, a now-defunct Dorchester imprint which the members of our very own Romance + Discussion megathread have remarked in the past always had the really cracktastic time travel stories, if that happens to boost your potential interest in such.

According to one of the customer reviews, the author herself has a pilot's license and apparently all the flying stuff she includes is rather accurate.

Currently free @ B&N (may also drop in the UK), Kobo & iTunes & Google Play (all available to Canadians). Will likely eventually get matched at selected regional Amazon stores (sometimes also UK), so linkage for your price-drop check convenience (and to facilitate the use of the Report Lower Price function).

Description
One last chance. That's all Colin Castle has to prove he isn't a total failure. But something went terribly wrong on his routine flight in a replica war plane. Now Colin stands in another time, facing a beautiful woman who will forever haunt his dreams.

One final hope. That's all Liesl Erhardt has to make good on a promise to fulfill her murdered husband's dream. The mysterious Colin with his miraculous plane may be the answer to her prayers. But dare she risk her heart to a gift from the sky?

Ooh! A cover with a guy with his shirt pulled apart so you can see his tastefully hairy chest standing in front of his prop plane! I'm not a romance reader, does this trope really help to sell books?

^

I'm not a romance reader either, so I wouldn't know. But quite often dedicated romance readers acknowledge and gleefully mock the absurdity of the genre covers they get. The SBTB blog semi-regularly runs a "Cover Snark" feature where they make fun of, among other things, the copious amount of what they like to call "man-titty" alongside general bad graphic design*.

* Sometimes both at once!

Disclaimer: link may use language that is slightly NSFW if anyone's reading over your shoulder. Besides the dubious cover image contents, that is. And also cause outbreaks of spontaneous laughter and "what the fhtagn?!".
