iOS App iOS Kobo Books app loading errors FIXED

Over the past year, I’ve encountered a problem with the Kobo app on my iPhone and iPad. I tap on a book and it’s cover does the opening animation (a zoom and fade), but then nothing happens. I tap on the book a second time, and I’m greeted with the attached screenshot, a blank page loading for eternity. I’ve deleted the book and redownloaded it, only to experience the same errors. Likewise with deleting the app and reinstalling it. Other books load fine, and the same book loads fine on the other iOS device of mine.

Until today, I just shrugged my shoulders and either swapped devices for reading or waited until I got home to read it on my Kobo reader, but today I found a simple solution: log out, then log back in.

I don’t know why I never tried it before, but there we are. You run the risk of wiping your reading stats and rewards (I lost a few awards and Kobo doesn’t truly support the feature anymore, so I won’t be able to get them back) but once I logged out and back in, the book behaved properly.

I wanted to share my results here for anybody else who searches for the same problem. If you’ve experienced this error, please reply and describe it in your own way so somebody looking for a solution has a better chance of finding this thread. Cheers!
