PDF to EPUB Size Issue (is PDF to CBZ an option?)

i converted a PDF of a comic to EPUB for my Kobo H2O, but the pages are very big when viewing them on the reader and take a while to open. is there a way to fix this, or at least convert the PDF to CBR/CBZ? i've looked into software for it but they're all for windows, i own a mac running mountain lion.

Don't know mac software, but you would just need an app that extracts the images from a pdf. No special comic app required. Then just zip/rar the images and rename the file to cbz/cbr. If the images are very big, you could resize them before zipping them.

Since both CBZ and EPUB are just zip files, you wont save anything by converting to cbz. As for image size, you can have conversion reduce it by choosing an appropriate output profile in the conversion dialog, page layout section.

i got the pages to work, but i'm still having issues getting the images to stretch to the edge when viewed on the reader. there's still a big white border, is there any way to get the images to stretch to the edges of the reader? (like how covers display when the reader is sleeping in full screen mode)

No, that would distort the images, since presumably their aspect ratio is not the same as that of the reader screen
