You could try here........Look at the "ebooks" tab above.
Also........ www.feedbooks.com www.manybooks.net. As for the differences, besides the size, here is our famous "ebook reader matrix". Hope that will help. https://wiki.mobileread.com/wiki/E-book_Reader_Matrix |

www.webscription.net for science fiction and fantasy. Many free books, plus a lot for sale at very reasonable prices.

I've used "manybooks" a few times and I've been pretty happy with it, for what that's worth.

Manybook is my fave also.
I've used both the Kindle 2 and DX and I think I prefer the size advantage of the DX, worth the extra money. |

There are free books listed right here at MobileRead, done by MobileRead members with GREAT CARE and LOVE. I highly recommend those.
There are always free books to be had right at Amazon too, though you have to dig a little. In the search query from your Kindle, just type "Free" and you'll see some of them (though you'll also see books with the word "free" in the title, so beware). There are a good number of public domain books there for free too. I just finished "A Christmas Carol" for free (as an example). Just spend a little time here hanging out and you'll figure it all out. And don't be afraid to use the search function. |

On this site (mobileread) just click the E-books link in the blue bar at the top of the page and select Mobipocket. This is the file type that is compatible with the Kindle. I believe Mobileread recently just passed the 14,000 files mark, so that is a lot of public domain books from which to choose. (Oh yeah, you can also use 1001books.com to easily find and download only the most popular public domain books.)
If you want free commercial ebooks for your Kindle then go HERE, where you can download newly released books where the publishers are giving away books to suck you into a series, introduce an author, or for some other marketing reason. |

I agree with checking out the mobileread and feedbooks books. I have noticed that many of the free books on Amazon are no better than getting them from Gutenberg. No pictures and poor formatting. Not always the case -- for example, their copy of "Flatland" had better images -- but many books are not as well formatted.
