A web-based ePub and PDF ebook server with search, a web-based reader, a responsive ui, and more.

BookBrowser is an easy-to-use web-based ebook server. It supports PDF and ePub books (and more coming soon). It loads quickly and does not require any special folder structure. It supports Windows, Linux, and macOS. It has a modern UI. It also comes with a web based reader with themes, custom font settings, and more.

Using BookBrowser is as simple as downloading it, moving it to the folder with your books, then starting it. You will then be given a link which you can use to access your books.

There is usually a demo available on my server at bookbrowser-demo.geek1011.net

The main changes from v2.x are a new ui, a complete refactor, easier extension, and more advanced features. There have also been numerous performance improvements. There is currently many features in development to be released in a few weeks with 3.1.

I'm not sure I understand what you are asking. Do you mean BookBrowser is giving the wrong filename?

Yes. In Microsoft Edge everything works fine, in Firefox and Kobo browser - it's wrong. When the file name is not in English, it's too long and Kobo browser can not download it.

Thanks for the clarification. I think I understand now. That is because non-ascii characters cannot be put into a URL.

How do you think I should convert Russian characters to ascii? Or should I just use the book ID as the filename?

I think it will not be convenient for everyone if the book files are not loaded with original names.

I cannot currently do anything about that because it is a limitation of Go (see https://github.com/golang/go/issues/16127), not BookBrowser.

Why? The Kobo devices do not show the file name to you. They operate using the metadata in the books. Assuming you have the metadata filled in correctly, the file names do not really matter.

Btw, I am currently doing a rewrite of BookBrowser. It will implement most of the feature requests in the issues on GitHub, and will be a lot more customizable. I expect to be done within the next month.
