Do you use an expansion card on your ebook reader? How big is it?
We have had a number of discussions on the various aspects of storage, but we haven't yet had a poll to find out how many of us actually use an expansion card.
This poll is going to be kinda tricky, so give me a moment to put it up. |

The CyBook only supports SD cards with a maximum capacity of 2GB. Given the currrent cost of 2GB cards, it doesn't really make a great deal of sense to use anything smaller, should one decide to use a card at all.

Can I ask what does an option such as No. At less than 256MB, my reader's internal memory is adequate mean?
I mean I don't know what to choose. either the option above or No. My reader came with a vast amount of Flash memory. Though prs-500 had less than 128 and it was more than enough as well. Last edited by astra; 05-03-2008 at 05:52 AM. |

OK. Voted for No. At less than 256MB, my reader's internal memory is adequate.
Never used any cards and never had a need to use one. Even if I have 20 books, each 1.5M and one tech book 20M I still have more than enough of free space. |

2GB, and I keep all my books on it, nothing on the internal memory. Don't ask me why, but I think I remember rationalizing that I didn't want to manage what went where, so elected "everything on the SD".
On a personal aside, I thought you would have picked up on the social convention of having "The blue one, next to the fish" as a choice on all polls from now on. |

I use four sd cards:
1. Nokia 770: 2GB MMC 2. Nokia N800: 2 8GB 3. PRS505: 1 GB For the two Nokias, their cards are formatted as ext3 and mirror my ebook collection on my media server via rsync. The Sony unfortunately was a step backwards. The card seems to be limited to VFAT despite the Sony being a Linux device and w/o folder support having large numbers of books on the device is impractical anyway. |

I keep all my books on the SD, all the samples from Amazon on the kindle memory and the periodicals that I read then discard on the Kindle memory.
The porn I keep on Amazon and load "at need." |

Do the two gray cards that came with my Sony PRS 505 count? I use them all the time. I only take them out to give them a quick polish.
