possible bug: translated 'Unknown' after changing UI language
i have books that the author is marked as 'Unknown' (but in hebrew),
Caliber passes to the metadata plugin the author as None (which is correct) but when i change my UI language back to english, thet actual translated word is passed as the author name (and not the None value) is it a bug ? is it a known bug ? does it have a planned fix version ? thanks |

Nope its working as intended. Author names are just strings, they are not typed. Unknown is just another string. If you change languages, all author entries in the database dont get re-written.

didn't think they are rewritten, just thought there is a special treatment for unknown, not sure then why it is received as None in the identify method,
anyways, thanks for the answer - i will add code for this special case in the plugin 10x |

it is None when it matches the current ui language. the matching is not done against every possible language.
