Constable & Robinson's UK sale is still on.
I had thought that they were going to end it on the 31st January, but perhaps they didn't manage that before the weekend. I have no idea how long this offer will continue, so if you want anything, now's the time. Here's an Amazon UK Link to all their titles on offer. They're only 84p at Amazon UK! I can recommend the Gill Cunningham series by Pat McIntosh, the Amelia Peabody series by Elizabeth Peters and the Lovejoy series by Jonathan Gash. |

Thought I'd give a last bump to the Kindle Big Deal (US), which expires today, 2/2. There are quite a few mysteries by established authors included in the Big Deal, at good prices, and some are price-matched at Kobo and/or BN.
This post from last month's thread has details. |

Free Today On Amazon UK - Night and Silence by Aline Templeton
'When David Cordiner marries Tessa he feels his life is starting all over again. He gets a transfer to a small police station in mid Wales, leaving behind the stresses of inner-London policing, his previous marriage, and the son who doesn't want to see him anymore. Tessa, an artist, will be able to paint from the cosy little cottage they share in a Welsh village. But the rural idyll of life in a remote Welsh valley soon turns sour for the Cordiners. For David, life in the local police force is deathly dull after the exhilaration of working for the Met. For Tessa, the hostility of the local community is a daily torment. Then a young nurse is found dead at a nearby beauty spot, her corpse strewn with wild flowers in some sick and sinister private ceremony. Caught up in the challenge of a murder investigation, David misses the signs that danger is stalking his wife in their secluded cottage. Imprisoned by fear and isolation, Tessa's efforts to escape her situation expose her to even more deadly danger, for the roots of the tragedy stretch far back into the past ... And David and Tessa will soon learn to fear both the night and the silence that comes with it. Free Today On Amazon UK - The End Of Days: A Barney Thomson Novella by Douglas Lindsay
'December 2009. MPs are being murdered in revenge attacks for the expenses scandal, and Westminster is in a state of turmoil. With the government on the verge of collapse, the last Labour Prime Minister — desperately clinging to power — decides there is only one way to reclaim the government’s authority. Relying on dubious intelligence, he instructs the Army to make plans to launch an invasion of the eastern seaboard of the United States of America. As humanity stands on the brink of war, it may well be that we have reached the End of Days. The world of men is at a crossroads: will it be annihilated, or will it survive and be allowed to evolve naturally into a beer-drinking sloth species with no appendages? Ultimately, when the blood stops flowing and the last money-grabbing MP has been stabbed in the head, the fate of us all and of Planet Earth itself will rest in the hands of one man: renegade barbershop legend, Barney Thomson.' Mind you I've got all the Barney Thomson books, and now the novella (141 pages apparently) and I've yet to read one!! Yep, the TBR is very very long at the moment - although when the ADE3 stuff comes into being it'll be a while before I buy because I'll be waiting for the fix first |

Goodreads indicate that Lindsay's written a number of different series, with just the one Hutton so far.
Published in Feb 2012 apparently. Sounds quite gory .... I might just stick with Thomson, but thank you for the suggestion (and I'm sure that other followers of this thread will pick it up - especially at that price!! ) |
