I'm a fan of SugarSync, pretty much the same functionality for a cheaper price. Actually it allows you to specify any folder to sync vs a single DropBox folder

I've been using Dropbox to transfer pdfs into Goodreader. It's nice for a free app, and they give you 2gb storage free as well which is enough for me since I delete the files once they are transferred to Goodreader.
