Other authors appear when I search for an author

Other authors appear when I search for an author, how is that possible and what should I set differently.

I search for "Bril, Martin" and that also appears but there are also other authors in between.
I have already looked at the metadata but can't find anything.

That is normal for a Search in Highlight mode. Look at the status line.
Preferences: Searching: remove the tick from Highlight ...

If you just put the author's name without qualification into search, then all kinds of things are searched.

Same applies to title.

Also you can select one instance and sort by Author column

You can also limit the searched metadata only to title/author/series in the settings.

Preferences->Searching has an option that puts a button in the search bar to toggle between Filter and Highlight.

And, there's a user configurable keyboard shortcut for the toggle in the Preferences->Advanced->Shortcuts->Miscellaneous group.
