non Sony .lrf files???
Tried to open and convert several lrf with ABC Amber Sony lrf converter and am told it is not a BBeB book.
Saw a web page that states that all lrfs are not Sony... But little else in the way of converting non sony lrfs. Quote:
Anybody got a handle on this? |

My understanding is that Bbeb and lrf are the same format. Sony's DRM'd version is called lrx.
And people have reported patchy results with the Amber converter. Some of the problems might be in the source file. What format is the book that you are trying to convert? Does it have DRM? |

I have a few hundred files from a torrent that show file type as .lrf More on non Sony lrf http://filext.com/file-extension/LRF Extension: LRF Program and/or Extension Function [What's This?] Company [What's This?] BroadBand eBook Specific Notes [What's This?] LRS is the source format for Sony eBooks which are also known as BBeB (BroadBand eBook). The LRS format follows the Xylog XML format. LRS is compiled into LRF files in a proprietary way to produce the files used on the Sony Portable Reader. These files are compressed and may also contain the pagination data for the various font sizes used on the device. Thanks for any help... |

You should probably look at the Calibre utilities rather than ABC Amber - It includes an lrf2lrs.exe and, probably more useful, a lrf2html.exe.

Thanx...
No go. Calibre can't do anything with this. Oh well, I guess I'll find those books again. |

But what are you attempting to convert? What format is the file in?

Both LRF (non-DRM) and LRX (DRM) files are BBeB files. |
