Anyone recommends The Hangman's Daughter series?
The three available books in The Hangman's Daughter series (by Oliver Pötzsch) is part of a new Amazon Local deal and I'm thinking of getting them. I'd appreciate comments (no spoilers, please ) from anyone who has read any of the books. Are they well-written (character, plot etc); would you recommend them etc etc.

Yes: I do.
I've only read the first one, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Here's what I would do: sample the 5-star and 1-star reviews on Amazon, then download a sample and read that. If you find it to your liking, you should buy it. I have the other two (having paid full price), but I haven't gotten around to reading them yet. Don |

When I first started reading the Hangman's Daughter I was a little put off by the first 2 chapters. I wasn't sure that I wanted to read such a violent book, but I continued on and thoroughly enjoyed book 1 and will start book 2 soon.

I fear I must differ - I started the first book, and frankly got bored. I have and do read historical novels, but this struck me as flat, slow, and just didn't grab my attention.

I own all 3 but know absolutely nothing about them; symptomatic of my purchases lately. Anyway - interested in reading what others thought of them.

I enjoyed the first one well enough. Just not sure the same characters in new adventures is anything I'm interested in reading. I'm probably going to pretend it was a standalone.

I bought the series in an earlier deal but haven't yet started. I always find it a little intimidating to start a book that has a list of characters at the beginning.

I'm about half-way through the first book. I'm enjoying the writing but finding it a little bleak. Still, it's good enough that I'm sure I'll finish it.

I got the first book quite a while back - it was ok, nothing spectacular but enjoyable enough so I later bought the second book and frankly got so bored I struggled to finish. Needless to say I am not buying anymore of them. I'll own up to not liking series much anyway as I find them too repetitive
