Anybody knows what's happening during upgrades?
Is there anybody that has some idea about how the iRex updates are performed? Is it a file system image that's written, a tar ball or just a file-by-file copy?
The reason for this question is that I'm playing around with a generic install script for the community developed applications. I would like to use a method that's as "bullet proof" as possible and at the same time try to minimise both the number of writes as well as the use of space in the root file system. |

The command used is
zcat fs.gz | dd of=/dev/tffsa2 bs=1k So yes: a raw filesystem dump is restored. |
