My Library is lending for Kindle!
Yippee!
Just looked this morning at my "hold" books on the library (Phoenix AZ) website to see if any came up (have been using my Kobo for library books), then thought I'd check my "Wish" list, and omg, one of the selection possibilities was "Kindle book". This is great! Now I can just use my Kindle for everything!!! Has anyone else noticed this on their library's site? (checked a few threads, but don't have time to search through) Rene |

Mine (Pasadena/Glendale public library) has a "Kindle ebooks coming soon!" image on the front page.
Library lending is currently being beta tested, starting out in two Seattle area library systems, and is slowly being introduced into various other libraries. Apparently there's also a new firmware update for the K3 (version 3.3) that has something to do with library lending, so you may want to leave your wifi on for the new download. |

Oh! It's now available at the Los Angeles Public Library. Looks like I'll be making a trip downtown to pick up a new library card since mine isn't working anymore.

All three of my main libraries are live.
Only one of my lesser libraries is pending and the rest don't even say. Doesn't matter to me since their collections are small. |

I successfully downloaded one and I'm still at 3.1. I'm not sure what 3.3 is but it doesn't appear to have any direct connection with library lending.

Hrm. Looks like the libraries here aren't doing it, yet.

My library now has the Library for Kindle option. I am in Eastern Tennessee. I just went there and there is a huge button that says Library for Kindle and it looks like every book there is a copy for the Kindle.
I just checked out my first Kindle Book! Last edited by Blossom; 09-21-2011 at 03:01 PM. |
