Since which firmware did the Koreader dictionary broke?

I use only koreader but even replacing the .sdcv file the dictionary look up is too slow to be useful. I did a reset and replacing through Kobo Desktop the .tgz file I downgraded to 4.5.9587 but still the look up takes an endless time.
To which version should I downgrade to have a fully functionant dictionary feature?
Thank you guys!

Why do yu think it's a Kobo firmware problem? Most likely a KOReader problem.
