Replace Kindle 3 eInk panel firmware from Nook?

Wow, the S/N ratio is pretty high here, not sure where else to turn though...

So the "sales" documentation I have seen makes me wonder that perhaps the K3 and Nook ST use the same eInk panel. Nook however has a "proprietary" panel refresh tech where they flash the page less often. Any thoughts about using the nook firmware to get this functionality?

It is possible to disable the page flash by echo 1 > /sys/devices/platform/eink_fb.0/override_upd_mode, but the display quickly becomes unreadable for me... but man is it fast!

This is really easiest way to disable flashing to black, but I got very worse and deformed text and graphical books (PDFs) more than what I said before here:

Sorry, It's just my trail, therefore I came back to:
Code:
echo 0 > /sys/devices/platform/eink_fb.0/override_upd_mode
