Ebook readers available in Swedish stores
This was in the news today, and I thought it might be intresting for people living in Scandinavia
Today two e-book readers were presented. Bokus will be selling Cybook Opus, for 1995 SEK (roughly 200 euro), to the first 100 customers, then the price will rise to 3885 SEK( 388 euro ). It comes loaded with 5 swedish books. Adlibris plan to sell Adlibris Letto is a rebranded Bebook, that will be available February 23rd. ( Or maybe just a repackaged, not sure) The pre-order price is 1495 (=150 euro), and it comes preloaded with 7 books in *swedish* and a voucher for another ebook. |

And with the release of these some ebook stores is also launching, pretty decent price. from 3-15 euro not fantastic in any way but it seems like the most books are under 10 euro at least (100 SEK). A new Liza Marklund book (a pretty populare swedish author that writes crime) cost 10 euro and that is 7 euro lower than the hardcover version of the book so it seems like the publishers will be resonable and I like that

Not only that. They have begun selling ebooks with watermarking instead of encryption DRM! This looks good.

So which reader is the best buy here? I'm leaning towards the Bebook but would appreciate any advice.

If it comes down to these two devices I would go for the Cybook Opus for 1995 before the promotion ends. This is a good price for this device.

Hey,
From what I understood from the bokus, the cybook Opus is preloaded with 7 books and price will stay at 200€. They say that the price of the 7 books (new ones) should be 388€. But as they are nice with us they put it at 200€ Also it comes with the black jacket and 75 classics. Just for the comparison : Cybook Opus is 2 time faster and got 2 times more memory than the letto (Bebook mini renamed). It has also more battery life span. Cybook Opus comes with an accelerometer (the same little thing that is inside iphone and ipod touch, you know the one that enable the screen to go from landscape to portrait by moving the device...) Cybook design and touch feeling is a lot better. Cybook Software is also more user-friendly. so make your choice! What, who said I'm french? ok I clearly prefer the Cybook Opus... Well good day to all! |

After Bokus managed to sell 100 Opus readers quicker than expected they've extended the 1995 sek offer until 26th February.
