Comics/graphic novels

How well does Koreader work with comics on Kobo? Does it zoom in better on the panels? Are there limitations in formats or anything?
Any opinions appreciated

So yes KOReader does offer the ability to zoom in on comic panels, however, the interface may feel a bit cumbersome as it requires a hold-and-tap action to zoom into a panel, followed by a tap to close the zoomed view. In short, do not bother.

BUT! There are other great comic features in KOReader such as a guided zoom function that allows for a more fluid navigation through the panels. You can zoom in and pan across the page to your liking, with options for different types of comics, including Manga and Western comics. This functionality is particularly effective, works a treat.

As for format compatibility, I'll speak only for the guided view features. This supports (to my knowledge, only based on what I've tried) PDF, EPUB, and CBZ, which should cover most of your comic reading needs (easy to change from CB7/Z/R etc as these are not supported).

Additionally, using PDF with the regular Kobo software in landscape mode works pretty well too.

Thanks for the info!! So is KOReader compatible with the new kobo colour?
Also, can you read regular ebooks with the standard kobo reader?

I had to update to one of the nightly builds to make it work. The current major/monthly update Sourdough version didn't work, but a new major/monthly update should be out soon to fix this.

And yes the Colour can do BW just find, albeit a tad darker than the non Colour model.
