BBC Radio 4 Bookclub

"Bookclub" is a monthly Radio 4 programme in which a writer meets an audience to talk about their work. The BBC makes 100plus of these programmes available here. So, this is not a specific recommendation, but a place that you might hear something that sparks your interest and leads to you reading something you might not have thought of.

Along the same lines are the following:

BBC Radio 4 - A Good Read: Programme inviting guests to discuss their favourite books.

BBC Radio 4 - Books & Authors: Hosted by Mariella Frostrup and James Naughtie, this podcast features Open Book and Bookclub - conversations with leading authors about their work.

BBC Radio 4 - Open Book: Mariella Frostrup with the best new fiction and non-fiction, talking to authors and publishers and unearthing lost classics.

C-SPAN Booknotes: For sixteen years, from 1989 to 2004, Booknotes was C-SPAN's signature author-interview program. Focusing exclusively on contemporary nonfiction books, the Booknotes series created an unparalleled television forum for writers of history, biography, politics, and public affairs. 800 non-fiction authors in hour-long interviews.

C-SPAN2 Book TV: Each weekend, Book TV features 48 hours of nonfiction books from Saturday 8am (ET) to Monday 8am (ET).

NPR Books: NPR book reviews, news and author interviews -- for people who love to read. The best of Morning Edition, All Things Considered and other award-winning NPR programs.

Thanks for the heads up. I didn't have the BBC in my bookmarks. Now I do.
