Appreciation post for mobileread
Look
I think we are all aware, how garbage internet nowadays is. By that, I mean: - Websites being a bloated monsters with massive js code, that eat resources like nothing They take a lot of time to load too. - A lot of websites are pain to use on mobile -(This one, I find the worst) A lot of communities, moving to Discord. And we all know, how terrible Discord is. Can't look for the content on it from the internet, can't use it without account, the UX is miserable... And it's massive RAM hog. But mobileread? Loads quickly, takes no resources whatsoever, can find things on it from the google search, can use it without account, and... it is just so comfy. Works fine on mobile as well... Also man, this kinda makes me miss the times, when IRC was more popular.. #_# |

I'm very grateful that MobileRead exists. Very easy to use and an invaluable resource of all things related to ebooks/ereaders. No idea what I would have done without MR...
Many thanks to all wonderful MR members! |

It's the only site that I'm using from all the sites I was on in the early 2010's. A great resource and community.

I like MobileRead. Some of my forums are more technical but this one is more varied.
