How to have full file name converting (now I have Unknown.)
I have about 34 gb of cbr/cbz files and I need to convert them to pdf but when I go to convert them Calibre only copies part of the file name, the other part writes Unknown.
As long as there are 2 or 3 files I can rename them but now that there are almost 850 it becomes impossible. How can I make sure that all the converted files have the same original cbr/cbz file name so that I don´t have to rename the pdf files? tnx Helen |

Not sure what you mean by 'part of the file name'. Can you give an example. BR |

Worked for me
After copying a CBZ to D:\Sandpit, and renaming it I then ran the following command: Code:
ebook-convert.exe (byTom.Bart.CookingBooki).MyFirtBook.009.Year2-09-Cooking mushrooms.cbz (byTom.Bart.CookingBooki).MyFirtBook.009.Year2-09-Cooking mushrooms.epub |

Arrgh: I think I know where you're at.
You have the book in a calibre library and you're looking at the content of the book folder: You should regard calibre libraries as black boxes. The folder and file names in calibre library folders are determined by a calibre algorithm. Here's a couple of links that explain the rationale: Want to change folder structure or file names in the Calibre library? Why doesn’t calibre let me store books in my own folder structure? so I guess that means I have to edit the name 850 times either before converting the file or afterwards. I was hoping maybe either with a plug-in, or by editing a file or something quicker and more ‘simple’. Thanks Helen |

There's no need to know or care about the names of the files in the library?
If you want a copy of the EPUBs the conversion created that are named as per the Title column use the Save to Disk feature with the Save template set to {title}. See ==>> Save to disk BR |
