.Wol format are encrypted as 128 bit for each user during downloading. These encrypted files (books in .wol format) only work with the user’s device and they can not be copied and transfered to other devices. ...

How ironic, putting device specific DRM on their "free" library of books that seem to be mostly ... of dubious legitimacy.

From what someone else said, the WOL conversion program stripped graphics (I think) and all the attributes such as italics and bold. Is this true? Does te conversion program actually do this to the source you give it? if this is also true, are WOL book you purchase be devoid of graphics and attributes? |

No, to you have told not the truth.
For creation of the closed (ciphered) files you should specify it specially. The WOLF-file does not contain in a usual mode DRM and is freely read on all devices supporting this format. There are two formats WOLF: graphic and тектовый. Graphic WOLF it is perfectly converted from DOC, RTF, PPT, PDF, DjVu and FB2. Formatting, styles and pictures, as in an initial file is thus saved. A lack of this format - the big size of a WOLF-file (usually 15-25 Mb). If in the book (document) it is possible not to use styles or any elements of a drawing it is possible to use a text WOLF-format. It is better usual TXT. In this format it is possible to write down pictures and it supports a table of contents. The size of such WOLF-file usually 1,5-2,0 Mb. For our project lBOOK eReader perfect programs allowing are already created to convert books in a WOLF-format in an automatic and package mode. The received quality of books is much better than similar results at Sony. |
