Indesign-exported pdf to epub

Hi Guys,

I have a picture book made in indesign that I want to convert to epub. Although, the layout gets messed up when I convert the indesign-exported pdf using Calibre. I'm not exactly sure how to fix this, but I assume this can be solved if the pdf-text can be recognized as an image (am I correct?). Please look at my first attachment for example. My ideal is the layout on the right, but this messes up when you convert the file (what you see on the left).

In any case, should anyone know the solution for this, please guide me to the right direction.

Also, is there a way to make 2 pages display on one screen for iphone or ipad? (please look at the second image I attached).

Thanks a million in advance!

Regards,
Nishi
