To Terran Commonwealth pilot Rex Vahl the mission seemed simple: Find out why the tyrannical Europan Empire was interested in the backwater world of Anglesey. But in the lawless space of the Chaos Quarter, things never really go smoothly. When Rex discovers a colony of people that are not supposed to exist, he and his crew suddenly find themselves trapped between desperate people who deserve freedom, and an autocratic superpower hell-bent on destroying it, by any means necessary. Making things worse is the fact that his gunner, a former Europan himself, is on the colony’s hit list. And a bounty huntress with mind-altering synthetic pheromones may also be after them, for her own twisted reasons. Yep, it’s just that kind of day…Faced with such insurmountable odds, Rex and his crew face a daunting choice: Either find some way to resist the juggernaut headed their way, or end up the latest victims of a dark nation’s imperial ambitions…

David, judging from the Amazon sample your book seems to be well-written. It's a great pity to spoil it with basic grammatical errors in the blurb. Makes people think that you haven't put care into your book, which you obviously have. I really would suggest correcting these errors. As the old saying goes, you only get one chance to make a first impression.

For Second, just figuring out how to be human is bad enough. Having existed ninety-seven years without free will, she is unimaginably naive, and not always able to connect emotions to the corresponding actions/reactions. Jake Gaderi is a cyborg far from home. Tossed out by his own people for asking questions they weren't comfortable with, he's thrown in with Rex Vahl and the crew of Longshot. Rex Vahl knew being the Commonwealth's go-to guy for Chaos Quarter missions would be a tough gig, given the violent nature of the region. But the job is the job, and he has a track-record when it came to doing the impossible. But now he's facing off against the might of the powerful Europan Empire, with a mind-distorting woman locked in a spare closet; all while trying to keep the locals from shooting him in the back. It's almost enough to make him wish he could find a more boring way to make a living...almost.
