Lbook V3 Firmware

Hello all,

I have got links to some firmwares from iSCRIPTUM (www.iscriptum.eu)
who sells Lbook V3 (rebranded Hanlin V3).

Here it is:

================================================== ======
1.
Here is the list of links, where the official firmware can be found (from the oldest to the newest).
Please note, that firmwares 1.26 and 1.27 have Ukranian as the default language, but this can be changed.

v3update-uk-1.26-20080619.zip - 23 878 449
v3update-uk-1.27-20080723.zip - 24 937 241

Here are md5's files:

http://www.iscriptum.com/files/firmw...6-20080619.md5
http://www.iscriptum.com/files/firmw...7-20080723.md5

2.
Q:
Is the firmware for Lbook V3 I ordered frokm you is the same as for Bebook, Hanlin book and all other rebranded Jinke V3 devices?
Or is there any difference between them?

A:According to manufacture's information, the firmware is the same for these devices. But we have not worked with the devices other than Lbook V3.

Thanks for the links!

Does anyone happen to have a copy of the lBook v1.26-20080816 firmware (which was actually released on 2008-07-16) which included (poor) Mobipocket-support but was removed from their website?

I don't know why they removed support for mobipocket. I think that in Europe it's very important feature. LIT files OK but this support is mostly for US customers. I
I hope that because LBook , Beebook etc is manufactured for EU market , they finally support mobi files with DRM of course.

Thanks very much for the link!

The people from BeBook told me that they will release a firmware version with MobiPocket-support in the near future, so I'm quite sure that lBook (and probably Jinke) will do the same thing.

Ooh yeah thanks for the rapidshare link! Am I the only one who can't download the iscriptum links? They get about 5-11 megs done then stop. And other places I've seen firmware from lbook.org but that site seems to not exist at the moment... I just got my reader and had the darnedest time finding current up-to-date firmware besides the official hanlin one.

I had the same problem at first, but retried a couple of times and managed to download them all without further problems.

I uploaded the files on rapidshare:

thanks for the lbook links (hanlin clones can use any hanlin firmware), is 1.27 the latest one? I got a bebook and they had an update in Nov (2.01) for mobi support and anti-alaising fonts etc and bebook support have also said a new update is imminent, although they havent said when they will be releasing it

redbaron101, yes, 1.27 is the latest official one. 2.01 is still under testing, you can download latest test version ( http://rapidshare.com/files/16825875...n_20081128.zip ), but it has some bugs for FB2 format still.

thanks torbirch

I just downloaded the link you shared, but I'll probably try it after I finished the book Im reading. i find with the bebook firmware, lits look the best, but is very buggy, rtf is very good on the bebook, and fb2 looks good (displays much better iin the bookcase screen too) but is slightly buggy - rtf seems to be best format

I've installed it, but I didn't notice any difference yet. (after all, I'm really happy with this firmware, it has a nice overall look)

Few things I found using this firmware:
- Battery meter dont refresh its status when I connect the device to charge it while reading a book. It will change, but just after doing a "book closeing - book opening" method
- Cannot make bookmarks while reading fb2-books. (In the preferences menu there's an option to show bookmarks, but nothing happens - just a screen refresh - when I try to create one)
