Is it possible to repartition the Boyue t62D?
Hi, a new Boyue owner here. And, frankly, brand new to the Android OS.
This 1GB for the system partition is ridiculously small and I was wondering if it's possible. I have not rooted yet, but would be willing to learn how if it's needed to do this. I know virtually nothing about Android OS, so please be very basic with your explanations. Much appreciate any help that you can give! |

Yes, search for FOV ROM extended. But you should read this thread: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...wpost&t=254042 too, to be sure what you are doing.

Thanks so much. I can see that I've got a lot to learn before I even attempt this kind of thing. Much appreciate the info!

You can also move some apps to the SD card. Go into settings then apps. If you swipe over to the second column "On SD card" that will show what apps can be moved. Unfortunately not all the space can be freed up, but it will help. No root is necessary to do this.

Just for the sake of clarity (since you're new to Android), that 1 GB partition is only used by the apps you install - only the apps themselves. Any data your apps save goes into another partition. System apps use yet another partition (about 536 MB +/-). That 1 GB may be larger than you realize. Still, if you plan to install a lot of apps, follow Purple Lady's advice first. You can move some portion of some of your apps to your SD card, and without rooting.
