Problem with binary install
Hi,
After using the binary installer, Calibre doesn't run: calibre $ uname -a Linux jobo 2.6.24-21-generic #1 SMP Tue Oct 21 23:09:30 UTC 2008 x86_64 GNU/Linux calibre $ ./calibre Traceback (most recent call last): File "<string>", line 7, in <module> File "iu.py", line 408, in importHook File "iu.py", line 467, in doimport File "iu.py", line 276, in getmod File "/home/kovid/build/pyinstaller/archive.py", line 418, in getmod File "iu.py", line 102, in getmod ImportError: /opt/calibre/PyQt4.QtCore.so: undefined symbol: _ZN24QXmlStreamEntityResolver13resolveEntityERK7QS tringS2_ calibre $ grep _ZN24QXmlStreamEntityResolver13resolveEntityERK7QS tringS2_ PyQt4.QtCore.so Binary file PyQt4.QtCore.so matches This is on Ubuntu Hardy. try an install from source. I've never actually tested the binary on 64bit machines
