Why would it be a questionable move? E-ink is all that PVI makes, unlike the author's Sony/Betamax analogy. And e-ink surely has greater customer recognition than PVI.

It's not, actually. PVI also makes a type of LCD screen.But Eink is the high profile name, so the name change makes sense.
