Kindles keep forgetting fonts
Hey, I have been reading a lot on Kindle lately but am also kind of annoyed by the fact that my Scribe as well as my PW6 keep forgetting the font associated with the template.
This happens with custom fonts as well as stock fonts and personal document books as well as store-bought books. Any template occasionally reverts back to Bookerly after waking a device from deep sleep (and of course when switching templates...) I have tried saving the correct fonts to the templates numerous times but no luck... Are there any known solutions to this other than writing to Amazon in the hope that they are actually fixing it. |

Yeah, this annoying but started at 5.16.10.
If you don’t have JB, there is no way to revert to 5.16.9 |

Unfortunately I don’t have a jailbreak.
Good that it’s a know problem so Amazon is probably going to fix it at some point. My Kindle Scribe also turns really laggy from this now and the only way to fix it is a restart… |

Sometimes Kindles have another problem with side loaded fonts.
You pick an eBook to read. You select the side loaded font you are going to use and all is fine. You pick a newly loaded eBook and the font does not show up. Under the Aa menu you see the font you picked so you have to pick a different font and then the font you want again to get it to show up. |

Except that for every person with this problem, there are maybe 100 who do not have any problem (I have seen it exactly one time and never since, on 3 different Kindles) and do not have any reason to come here and complain or comment.
I have tried to figure out the common denominator of what causes the problem but I cannot reproduce it. The onus is on the people with the problem to share all details (e.g. listing of /fonts folder, how themes are set up, is there pattern with amazon books vs side-loaded vs send-to-kindle). I came back here to post this same thing. Only having the issue on my basic kindle, not my PW or my Oasis - seems like I only see it when i'm not connected to wifi. Which makes zero sense to me.
