Books like Quarry?

Hello.

I'm a fan of Max Allan Collins' Quarry series of novels. I have looked around for other, similar series, but this one seems unique. Crime novels are easy to find, but Quarry, about a rational hit man who often hunts other hit men, doesn't seem to have any doppelgangers. (Collins' other series are also great, but not the same either.)

Any suggestions?

I was going to suggest the Parker novels, but I'm not sure they quite match up.

Orphan X by Gregg Hurwitz or the John Rain series by Barry Eisler, maybe? They both feature hit men and at times they are opposed by other hit men.

I've compared Orphan X to the Equalizer in the past. The best I can describe without going beyond the back cover is a lone gunman trying to help others to atone for a previous life. Although that's not exactly correct.

I think you would probably like the Keller series by Lawrence Block, which is about a regular guy who likes crosswords who also just happens to be a hit man. I really enjoyed it.
