Does anyone know where I can find a source of cover images for commercially published books?
Thanks. |

Whenever I need a book cover I usually go to www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/

Depends on how big you want, sometimes it's tough to find one bigger than the 500 pixel tall ones on Fantastic Fiction. I sometimes have luck at http://www.coverbrowser.com/ other times I just use Google to image search. If that fails I usually hit B&N as the cover images they usually have are about 100 pixels bigger than Amazon, which is where Fantastic Fiction gets their images.

I generally go to Amazon. Especially if they have a "browse this book" available, you can get large cover formats. (though, you'll have to dig in your cache to safe it, but that's not too hard if you use FF)

Flickr also has several groups and photosets devoted to scanned covers.

You could also try to use Calibre to find the images for you, although I think it's getting the images from Amazon as well. Just add an ISBN number in the meta-data and click on Download cover.

I usually just use google image search and if I find one I like but isn't big enough, I use TinEye to search for a larger copy. I have the TinEye Firefox extension.
An advantage of TinEye is that with images on Amazon it usually links you directly to the image bypassing the Flash previews. Last edited by BenG; 10-25-2009 at 03:49 PM. |
