Error Submitting EPUB to Android Book Store.
Hello. I've been trying to submit my graphic novel/comic to google play books. The software I used to export my epub was built into Clip Paint Studio. I keep getting this error when submitting to google
66: Error while parsing file: value of attribute "width" is invalid; must be an integer 66: Error while parsing file: value of attribute "height" is invalid; must be an integer I've looked everywhere for a solution, but I can't figure out what this actually means. I've changed the image size multiple times and it still wouldn't work. the images inside the epub are 1500x2250 currently without downsizing them. Changing the EPUB 2 to a EPUB 3 allowed me to submit the work, but in testing, it included massive margins that I never put in there, shrinking the comic book images, so I can't use EPUB 3. If anyone can guide or tell me what these errors are and how to fix them, I would appreciate it, I can't find any info anywhere about this. |

You cannot use a decimal point.

Maybe you can post the code for the image.

Here you go. I'm no expert when it comes to this stuff. I sorta just pressed the export button and assumed that was all I needed to do. This is just the second pages code. None of this was made by me, all done by clip paint studio.

Also, when someone asks you to post code, post the code and not a screen grab. |

I think it is complaining about the %
Is your image 1500x2250? Try <img width="1500" height="2250" |

Sorry, but yes it is a fixed layout. Its style is "fixed-layout-jp.css". Do I need to delete it or is there something I need to replace it with? I don't think I have anything that I could replace it with, no idea where to get something like that.

In answer to your above question, it depends. If the images are all the same at 1500x2250, then it should be pretty easy to fix the image code with a regex. If you have many different sizes, you will need to do a fix for each different size. Are you using Calibre or Sigil? Have you run the EpubCheck and native Check Book to check your ebook? Do this first. Once you find the errors using this method, you can then explore ways to fix them, either using the method by @Doitsu or my suggestion above. Once all the errors are fixed, you can try uploading again. |

If the ebook is reflowable, passes epub check and Smashwords upload premium (redistributes to Apple, Kobo, Barnes & Noble etc) and Amazon KDP, then it always passes Google/Alphabet's Playbook Playstore upload.
We upload the exact same epub to all three. However any new format/style rather than different content with already published format/styles is also checked in other ways: Small 4.3″ phone and Android App 5″ eink 800x600 Mobi on eink DXG and K3 Azw3 on ink PW3 and K3 8″ or 7″ Kobo eink Android 6″ 10″ various apps In the case of new format/style rather than different content with already published format/styles we'll also do a test purchase in Mobi, azw3 and KFX on Amazon as their conversion from epub can sometimes be odd. The Google and Smashwords downloads match epub upload. Last edited by Quoth; 06-04-2023 at 05:47 AM. |

Fixed layout is a very limiting factor. If I bought an eBook that was fixed layout, I'd want my money back right away. |

Image sizes in ANY epub are best in a class.
When I Save As to docx and import to Calibre and convert to epub it automatically creates the css for each image. |
