Now you need to recalculate the Title sort values (those changes only apply to NEW entries, New exports/calculated fields)
Select All Books. Tap 'E' (bulk edit mode) On the Basic Metadata tab: Tick Automatically Set Author Sort OK that will just recalculate the sort values for selected books |

Also the screendump seems to show that one problem is titles starting with digits? Perhaps that is the problem?
I don't think there is any way to make calibre ignore leading digits in titles? One way to handle digits could be to spell them out. Change a title like "3 marriages..." to "Three marriages...". For changes to the title sort to take effect, the title has to be edited. Not sure if it is enough to update the Author. Haven't tested. Could it be done by some bulk metadata search and replace? First add something to the end of each title, then delete it? Last edited by Adoby; 09-18-2013 at 08:17 AM. |

Quote:
( Running the Quality Check Plugin (may need to be installed from Get Preferences: Plugins) may reduce the list size to those that need updating: On the QC PI menu: Check Metadata: Check Title Sort ) On the Bulk Edit Metadata form (Just above the bottom item): Tick 'Update Title Sort'), OK |
