Values in movies vs books...

I came across this article...

American Moviegoers Preferred Movies with Conservative Values in 2011
http://www.movieguide.org/articles/m...s-in-2011.html

Which basically says that conservative values way out sell liberal values in the theater. Based on my time working in movie theaters, and plenty of other articles I have read, I would say this seems true, but I was wondering if that holds true for books as well? Do books with strong conservative values sell better then those that do not have them?

Not that that would ever impact how I write... just curious.

Um, what?

Movieguide®’s annual study of the political content in movies shows that movies with Pro-American, patriotic, capitalist, anti-socialist, anti-communist content and values and ethics reflecting traditional biblical morality make much more money per movie than movies with Anti-American, anti-patriotic, welfare statist, Marxist, secular, atheist, and/or very strong perverse content or values reflecting a radical, anti-human view.
Knowing a number of of conservatives and liberals myself, I question this study's definitions.

Family Guide to Movies and Entertainment? Maybe means nothing, but then again it made me question if the web site might have an agenda?

Trying a WHOIS search for movideguide.org it seems it is registered to Good News Communications whose point of contact seems to be have his own web site: http://tedbaehr.com/

Could be an interesting discussion for the P&R forum?

I certainly did not mean to imply that you had any agenda. Just that the web site certainly does, and that makes me question both his box office data and the conclusions he draws from it. That's without even getting into how he decides a film was All American Conservative valued versus leftist secular.

2011 DOMESTIC GROSSES

He does not mention the top grossing film of the year, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. I know the Christian right hates that, trying to get children interested in witchcraft. Nor number three, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1. Get behind me Satan.
