Kobo Books Version 10.15.2
Last week Kobo updated their iOS and iPadOS app to Version 10.15.2. They’ve added support for Apple’s built in translator. You can now select text and translate, for example, English to Spanish or Japanese to English. It should prove quite handy for language study. Here are some screenshots.
Kobo isn’t using dark mode, which is why the translation is colored different. Anyway, what do you think? Will you utilize this new feature? I know I will, and it’s about time, too. I gave up waiting for this kind of support years ago and turned an older Kobo into a Japanese only one (because text selection of vertical text in English Kobos is janky), but if I wanted a Japanese to English translation, I needed to read the book on a Kindle. I may rethink my entire setup now! Last edited by Cootey; 09-30-2024 at 06:31 AM. |
