Docx text type and sizes in tables

My table looks like as seen in the attachment.

The text appears to be of different sizes and scaled down compared to the rest of the text in the book.

I have defined the text as Verdana 13 pt. When looking up the properties of the text in the table cells, the smallest appearing text is of type Verdana 12.5 pt Para04. The biggest appearing text is of type Verdana 12.5 pt Normal.

Should not all text be displayed of the same size and type?

I think it is ok that the text is scaled down to fit in the table cells. Is this done automatically by default in calibre?

Turn off font size rescaling in the conversion preferences, and font sizes will be unchanged. And no text is not scaled to fit in table cells.

I have tried with font-size resizing on and off The text in the table still appears to be quite much smaller than the rest of the text. So some sort of rescaling is taking place.

Check the table at page 35 to see this.

When changing the size of the text manually in the docx, the size must be set to 20 to be displayed with the same size as the rest of the text.

You are running this conversion with a bunch of extra CSS that will affect things, and you have not disabled font size rescaling.

Ok, we found out that the culprit is the "vertical-align: top;" property in the css.
One of our expert braille reading list users also experienced that JAWS interpret and announces the vertical-align: top; property as superscript formatting which by the way is somewhat errounus.

After removing vertical-align: top; the table displays as expected.
