Removing A, An and The from Series Title

is there a way to have Calibre automatically remove the leading A, An or The from the series when it downloads the metadata?

My 94 year old mom wants all the series names to not have a leading A, An or The in the title of the series. Apparently it confuses her.

My mom is not computer literate, that fact that she even wanted to learn to use Calibre is a shock. She taught her self how to search for Metadata (another shock). Calibre is the only thing she uses on her computer, and I am trying to make it automatically do what she wants.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

You cant have it remove them but you can create a column that displays the series info without the leading articles. Preferences->Create your own columns->Column built from other columns.

IIRC using a template like

{series_sort} {series_index}

will do the trick. See the user manual for details https://manual.calibre-ebook.com/template_lang.html
