I did that when I was trying out the readers at bestbuy. Loaded an SD card with some epubs using a card reader and just plugged the card in one of the devices at the store. It takes a few seconds to update the book list and you're good to go.

Yes, they do show in the Books list but when the sd card is removed, so are the books....So I was just wondering if there was a way to transfer to the reader and then withdraw the sd card???

Hmm. Sorry I misunderstood your questions initially. From what I understand, it would not be possible to transfer to the reader memory from the card without attaching it to a computer and using a library/management program such as calibre.

You can do this on the 505 after installing PRS+. PRS+ isn't ported to the 600 yet (maybe it's not even possible). The readers with Sony firmware are not capable of copying files from one to another memory location (maybe the 900 can, but I don't know). Try to check the dev-corner. If there's some hack to do this you would probably find something there.
